Who

The Texas Semipro Football League (TXSFL)

Texas-Sized Football. Independently Owned. Equally Fierce.

The Texas Semipro Football League (TXSFL) is a bold, forward-thinking trade association of independently owned franchises—empowering visionary owners to build their own legacies while competing under one unified, powerhouse banner.

Unlike rigid single-entity leagues, our innovative model fuels thrilling on-field rivalries, true competitive balance, and genuine financial equity through aggressive revenue sharing. Every team—from big-market powerhouses to rising small-market squads—gets the resources to chase championships and deliver unforgettable, high-stakes football to fans across the Lone Star State.

WHY

Players: The Second-Chance League

The TXSFL was built for the ones who didn't get their fair shot.

Injured. Overlooked. Passed over. Timing never lined up. Whatever the reason, your football story isn't over—it's just getting started.

The Texas Semipro Football League (TXSFL) exists to close that gap and reignite dreams. We provide a serious, competitive platform for athletes 18+ (or 17 with parental waiver) to:

  • Keep playing high-level football in a structured, professional environment

  • Build elite film, create viral highlights, and rack up proven experience

  • Develop skills, toughness, and leadership to push toward pro contracts, college return, or beyond

  • Prove doubters wrong—one snap at a time

All levels are welcome. From former college standouts to high-school stars who never got the call, walk-ons with raw hunger, or veterans chasing one more ride—we want the players who still have fight left. No egos. Just grit.

How it works…

League (Organization) Governance

  • Independently Owned Franchises — Each team is privately owned and operated, driving local passion and investment.

  • Board of Governors — Composed of principal owners (or designated executives) from every franchise.

  • Decision-Making — Major decisions (rule changes, expansions, relocations, etc.) require a 75% supermajority vote for fair, consensus-driven leadership.

  • Commissioner — The league’s CEO, responsible for daily operations, rule enforcement, league-wide contracts, media deals, and discipline.

  • Key Committees — Influential owners lead standing committees on finance, media rights, public relations, and more.

Revenue Model: Built for Parity & Growth

Statewide and national revenues are pooled and shared equally among all teams and the league office, creating a level financial playing field:

  • Shared National Revenue Streams

    • Media rights

    • League-level corporate sponsorships & licensing (e.g., major partners like Visa, Pepsi, Nike)

    • Merchandise sales

    • Portions of ticket sales from out-of-state/international games

  • League-Wide Pool — Funds the prestigious TXSFL Bowls, league operations, and growth initiatives.

Local Revenue stays 100% with each franchise (tickets, concessions, local sponsorships, non-league events)—incentivizing owners to invest in stadiums, fan experiences, and community marketing.

This balanced approach ensures smaller markets can compete with the biggest, while rewarding local hustle.

Conference & Division Structure

The TXSFL features two powerhouse conferences:

Ex: NFC and AFC

Each conference is divided into four divisions (East, North, South, West), with four teams per division—creating balanced, regional rivalries that fans live for.

Regular Season

  • 10-week schedule — Each team plays 9 games + 1 bye week.

  • Formula-based balance — 6 divisional games + 3 inter-divisional matchups.

  • Result: Every team faces every other team at least once per season—maximum competition, maximum rivalries.

Playoff Format: Single-Elimination Intensity

  • Wild Card Round — No. 1 seed in each conference gets a first-round bye; lower seeds battle for advancement.

  • Divisional Round — Re-seeded matchups (No. 1 vs. lowest remaining seed, etc.).

  • Conference Championships — ex: NFC and ex: AFC crowns decided.

  • TXSFL Bowl (Brisket Bowl) — The ultimate showdown: ex: NFC Champion vs. ex:AFC Champion at a pre-determined site.

Higher seed hosts throughout the playoffs—home-field advantage earned on the field.

Nothing beats the drama of Texas football under the lights.

The Texas Semipro Football League isn't just games—it's a movement. Independent ownership. Equal opportunity. Relentless competition. Texas-sized passion.

Recruitment: Fueling the Future

The TXSFL isn't just a league—it's a talent pipeline. We're actively recruiting hungry players and helping launch new teams to grow the game across Texas.

Our recruitment strategy:

  1. High School Senior Camps — Dedicated events for graduating seniors to showcase talent, get exposure, and transition seamlessly into semi-pro ball.

  2. Open Tryouts — Held regionally near existing and potential teams—open doors for local talent to step up and earn a spot.

  3. College Coach Connections — We invite college scouts to our camps and send TSFL coaches to college recruitment events to bridge the gap and create real opportunities.

  4. Alumni Network — Leveraging former players who made it to the next level (pro, college, coaching) to mentor, recruit, and open doors for the next wave.

We're building a brotherhood that doesn't stop at high school or college. If you're ready to grind, get noticed, and chase what's next—the TXSFL is your proving ground.

Your missed opportunity ends here.
